- Scripture from public-domain translations only. When the lyrics quote the Bible, they quote the King James Version, American Standard Version, World English Bible or Douay-Rheims — or paraphrase. In Spanish, Reina-Valera 1909; in Portuguese, the older Almeida. The studio is told never to quote the NIV, ESV, NLT, NRSV or NVI, whose text is under copyright.
- Your denomination's vocabulary. Choose Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Pentecostal or non-denominational, and the lyrics use your words: Eucharist or the Lord's Supper; the saints and Mary only where your tradition invites them.
- No borrowed hymns or worship songs. The studio is instructed never to reproduce the lyrics of an existing copyrighted hymn or song. Everything it writes is new, and you edit every line before it is sung.
